Chairman's Message

Worship Ministry
Rebecca Lim
2025
We thank God for His faithfulness throughout the year as the worship team has continued to serve diligently and faithfully each week. It has been a privilege to lead the congregation in worship, and we are grateful for God’s sustaining grace upon every member.
We are delighted that Grace has joined our team, and we praise God for blessing us with new people to serve together. At the same time, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation to Stephanie Long for her unwavering and faithful service through the many years. Her dedication has been a blessing to the ministry, and we gladly bless her as she continues to use her gifts in other areas of the church.
Above all, we thank God for His grace upon the team. As we continue to serve, we humbly ask the church to keep us in prayer—that we will remain close to God and continue to serve with hearts that are aligned with Him.
2026
The worship team began the year with a meaningful team-building session, where we took time to encourage one another and reflect on areas for growth, both individually and as a team.
We were also blessed by Zach B and his friends, who came to share with us on worship and the Word, as well as practical ways we can continue to grow and improve technically. Their input has been valuable in helping us sharpen both our skills and understanding of worship.
One key area that deeply resonated with us is the posture of our hearts. As a team, our desire is to continually remain in step with the Spirit, serving not just outwardly, but from a place of sincerity and devotion to God.
As it is written in Leviticus 6:13 (NIV): “The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out.” In line with this, we seek to continually carry a spirit of worship and intercession, keeping the fire in our hearts burning for the Lord.

Year 2025
Last year, we focused on honing the children’s listening skills and successfully refrained from using multimedia during lesson time. Throughout the weekly bible lessons, we verbally narrated the bible stories, enforcing understanding with questions and answers and reiterated the lesson with Memory Verse.
Although some weeks it was more challenging to sustain the younger children's attention, with consistent guidance and clear boundaries they eventually adjusted well to this style of bible storytelling (without screen images or videos).
We intend to carry on with this style of bible storytelling in 2026, with the aim of further strengthening the children’s listening skills and extending their attention span.
Moving forward in 2026
One of the main focus of this year’s teaching is Worship, teaching the children the purpose of worship and the ways to worship God. These lessons will be interspersed with other bible lessons throughout the year.
As for our weekly lesson, we will use “On The Way” curriculum as our guide, revisiting the bible stories from the Old Testament to the New Testament. We will continue with Memory Verses, alongside notebook writing to strengthen learning.
Starting this year, MKC will no longer give weekly MKC points as rewards. Instead, remaining points will be exchanged for gifts during special occasions such as the Children’s Day and holiday events.
Praise
“The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.” – Proverbs 11 : 25
Indeed, a sincere shout-out to all our MKC leaders, who have been generously giving their time, effort and love to sow into the lives of our children. Their tireless labour in preparing the materials, teaching, praying and spending (on snacks and gifts) to bless the children are always fondly treasured. May the Lord continue to enrich our leaders’ lives to bear good fruit in all that they do.

Prayer Ministry
Catherine Leong
First, I give thanks to God for all the intercessors and their faithful labour over the past years. It's not easy, yet the Lord has graciously granted us the strength to persevere. Some of them were even awakened in the middle of the night to intercede, faithfully responding to what the Lord had placed upon their hearts.
Proverbs 3:5-7 (NKJV) - Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
This verse was laid on my heart as I worshipped. I pray that we will continue to trust Him in both rainy and sunny days, for He is the One who guides and leads us. What we see is not what the Lord sees and many times we run on our own strength and fall short. Yet God is a faithful, and when we return to Him, He lovingly guides us back onto His path.
FEAR NOT FOR I AM WITH YOU
This is what the Lord impressed upon me one morning: Do not fear or worry of what is to come. Fear does not come from Him and we need to turn to Him who grants us His Shalom. We need to BE PREPARED and BE WATCHFUL AND PRAY, daily. Praying without ceasing - this has been the Lord's gracious call upon our church. May we remain steadfast in prayer, seeking and aligning our hearts with His will.
TO HIM BE ALL THE GLORY!

PA Ministry
Gilda Long
The PA team continues to demonstrate dedication towards the church by working together with the worship ministry and assisting in various church activities. The team has remained consistent in its members with the exception of Joel rejoining the ministry.
Joel is currently undergoing training in operating the PC for worship lyrics, presentations and the livestream set-up. Under Derek’s mentorship, he will continue progressing towards managing the sound board. Meanwhile, Evan, Zachary, Jedidiah and Sarah have shown great interest in improving their skills and deepening their understanding of the technical aspects required of them. Moving forward, we plan to explore more formal training to equip them with the relevant knowledge to enhance both their technical proficiency and their confidence in handling of the equipment.
Additionally, the team has grown spiritually, with members participating in pre-service prayers, engaging in prayer meetings, and sharing their prayer requests and testimonies. They have also been involved in ministries such as MKC and Worship. We will continue to work together to ensure that their responsibilities do not hinder but rather support, their spiritual growth and development.
The initial manpower challenge has been managed with the reduction of livestream needs (managing cameras). A small two-person team is sufficient instead of the previous three-person team. Derek and Gilda remain on stand-by to assist with more complex troubleshooting or to provide additional support. To date, this has ensured fair rotation - it has helped us balance PA duties with commitments to other ministries. Our current goal is for the PA team members to be part of the congregation at least twice a month. We are still actively seeking interested individuals to join the team.
The team has taken valuable feedback from Zach B and the worship team on areas for improvement and we are looking into ways to further improve with trainings - to enable the team to better support the worship ministry and elevate our worship experience.
Looking ahead to 2026, our focus remains on fostering the development of our technical skills while strengthening unity and camaraderie within the team, to serve with excellence.
