“And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified,
and those whom he justified he also glorified.”
[Romans 8:30]
We struggle with this word ‘predestined’. It is something we cannot comprehend, for something that is already foreknown, foretold. Yet one of the cornerstones of the Christian Faith is to know a pre-destined future, that gives us comfort - Good will win. This final result, plays out day to day, from the smallest of actions to the greatest of events that shape our time.
This concept is so interesting that it has been tackled on the big screens, by numerous new movie releases. The movie Arrival [spoilers ahead], tells a story of aliens that bring with them a knowledge, that allows humans to have foreknowledge. In which the main character gets personally shown her life, in all it’s detail, the good, the triumphant, and the tragic. To which she had the choice, knowing full well the consequences, how would she live her life?
So we ask ourselves the same: What if we are sure, of what God promised us, how would we, live our lives?
