ThirDaYouths
He empowers the feeble and infuses the powerless with increasing strength. Even young people faint and get exhausted; athletic ones may stumble and fall. But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace will experience divine strength. They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles, run their race without growing weary, and walk through life without giving up. Isaiah 40:29-31 [TPT]
Late 2018 and 2019, saw major adjustments, as together with the church we no longer had a permanent location to meet.
TDY X Youth Alpha Series
In line with The 2019 Year of Proclamation, the ThirDaYouth used the Youth Alpha Series as material for cell group discussion and an opportunity to learn how Alpha is conducted for the purpose of outreach. It was a return to the basics of our own salvation and a step in building a stronger foundation in Jesus.
Alpha Holy Spirit Weekend Away
The highlight for the Alpha program was the weekend away.
We made use of a space in Little India called the Treehouse. It gave the youth a time away to be with God and functioned as a mini camp. We saw the Holy Spirit renew and heal, as we spent time waiting on Him and learning more about Him.
Cell Groups (CGs)
As the church geared up to make the big move. The ThirDaYouth traced Abraham’s journey of faith through the book of Genesis. The youths continued to meet weekly during the second half of the year on specific youth related topics.
Christmas Steamboat@MKFC
A youth-led and initiated harvest event for the youth zone was held at MKFC on Christmas Day. We saw friends and our youths coming together for a time of food and celebration.
Challenges Ahead
We envision to raise leaders, leading those of their peers. As we are growing we sought your prayers, that the ThirDaYouth will be a place of relevance and safety, where each one of these young ones would come and build the community they long to see.
Parents, thank you, for all the immense trust, support of your time, homes, resources, money and love. Your prayers are powerful!
PAMINISTRY
Shifting into a new premises has been an exciting and challenging journey.
The PA ministry has expanded in terms of roles and responsibilities. As we moved into a new site, we upgraded our AV systems and new types of equipment have been installed to achieve optimal AV efficiency for the congregation.
As a ministry, we have gone thru various sessions and training that the AV consultant as well as the vendors has arranged for us. From learning the new PA Board to the lightings as well as visuals, it has been an exciting journey to be part of. Expanding our knowledge and gaining new insights into how we can add more value in serving the ministry.
After familiarising with the new system for the past few months, the team has been trained and definitely have the relevant skills needed to perform their duties well to handle the new AV systems.
Joel and Jana who are the newest addition to the PA Ministry have been an integral part of our team. They are now able to run the service or worship rehearsal independently without much supervision.
I believe the team is able to grow even more with the new equipment we have installed.
Capabilities such as live streaming was only recently implemented due to circumstances but its a new beginning into more things we are able to do to serve our ministry diligently for the Church.
