Worship

We give thanks to God for His ongoing goodness, love, and grace. We are deeply grateful for the dedication and commitment of each member of our worship team. Their time, talents, and energy are freely given as they serve and lead us in worship.

We also thank God for the opportunity to come together as a team during National Day for a time of fellowship and enjoyment. It was a meaningful occasion where we were able to connect, share our personal experiences, and strengthen our relationships with one another.

For the year 2025, God has given me a vision for our worship team—one of a throne room with a river of living water flowing from the throne (Rev 22:1). It is our heartfelt prayer to move deeper into spiritual realms, embracing gifts such as speaking in tongues and interceding during worship, all while remaining aligned with the heartbeat of God.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are also committed to raising up new leaders within our team. We thank God for Jethro and Adia, who are currently in training and growing in their leadership potential.

Praise

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” - Galatians 6 : 9 - 10

We want to give thanks and praise to God for all our MKC leaders.  Even though our current pool of children is relatively small, yet every leader has been faithfully serving our children with love and compassion.  Our leaders are grouped into 3 groups, with attention given to the upper primary, lower primary and kindies. With this grouping, we aim to be more attentive to the needs of each child, in hope to help them with their growth beyond MKC.

Our leaders are Doreen Lee, Eugene Giam, Diane Tan, Pauline Giam, Rachel Giam, Jethro Khoo, Evan Tay, Ezann Foo and Stephanie Tay.

Year 2024

MKC had aligned with the church to memorize the same Scripture Verses.  All our teachings and activities were centered on the Memory Verses.  We also prepared weekly memory verses for the children to bring home, to help them to memorize and revise God’s Word continuously.  Memory verses were revised again in the following week’s lesson, building up new memory verses each week.

The children, even the younger ones, made commendable effort in memorizing God’s Word.  We believe that these seeds sown into their hearts will be watered by the Holy Spirit and will indeed bear fruits in due time.

We also rewarded the children with MKC points, each time they successfully recited the Memory Verses.  All accumulated MKC points, previously, were used to exchange for tangible gifts (bought by MKC).  However, in 2024. we had changed our Gift Exchange to a more experiential activity, where the children will use their MKC points to purchase their own items at FairPrice, Hougang1.  We taught the children the conversion of points to equivalent cash and we put a limit of a maximum amount that the children can spend at each Gift Exchange. Through this, we hope to impart more relevant values such as budgeting, decision making to choose what they can purchase, exercising self-control and practising generous sharing.

There was no intentional outreach event in 2024. We concentrated on building up and expanding our current pool of teachers.

Moving forward in 2025

We have started this year going back to knowing the person and character of Jesus.  Our lessons are concentrated on verbal story-telling style (to enhance listening skill) of the life of Jesus, from birth until His resurrection.  A bible verse relating to the lesson will always be referred to.  All worksheets and activities will be centered around the same lesson theme.

MKC has also taken the initiative to gather and supervise the children the moment they arrive in church.  We hope to free the parents to be able to serve in their respective ministries or even participate in the pre-service prayer uninterrupted.  We look forward to engaging more into the lives of our children, for as the Lord builds this house, we will not labour in vain.

PRAYER

I thank God for all the intercessors, both young and matured for their perseverance in prayer. No matter how tired and busy they are, you see them praying for all matters.

The Lord’s word for us is to continue to trust in Him despite of storm/crisis/financial and not to be wise with our own eyes or own understanding.

Let’s continue to pray for salvation for our aged parents and spouses in our midst.  No matter how long we pray, He will answer our prayer in His time.

I thank God for the council members who encouraged us when times we are down and needed prayer.

What the Lord impressed on me is the spirit of obedience. We have to learn to listen and obey His call for each one of us in ZLSCC.

ALL GLORY TO HIM.

PA & Media

The PA team has consistently demonstrated dedication and support to the church by assisting with the worship ministry and various church activities through their time and effort. Currently, the team is experiencing growth in its leadership structure, as Gilda has taken on a leadership role, showcasing her capacity to guide the team effectively.

Looking ahead, we are excited to see Gilda stepping into the role of leading the PA team. She has demonstrated excellent leadership skills and possesses a deep understanding of the technical aspects required, making her well-equipped to guide the team into its next phase. We are committed to supporting her in this journey.

Both Evan and Zachery have shown remarkable growth through the training and mentorship they have received, gaining confidence in fulfilling their responsibilities within the PA ministry. Additionally, the team has grown spiritually, with members participating in pre-service prayers, engaging in prayer meetings, and sharing their prayer requests and testimonies.

Manpower remains a challenge for the team, as the limited number of members makes it difficult to implement a proper rotation system, often requiring many members to serve week after week. To address this, we will actively seek individuals who are interested in joining the ministry and commit to training new members to join the team.

Sam has also taken on a more active role within the team, offering his technical expertise and guidance. He has proactively contributed to rehearsals and has provided valuable advice on the replacement of equipment. Additionally, Sam has been instrumental in transferring his knowledge of the soundboard to the team, ensuring the continued growth and development of our technical capabilities.

Looking ahead to 2025, we are focused on fostering the development and growth of our team's technical skills, while also exploring opportunities to expand our team by adding members as needed.
